Day Program Schedule
At
11:00 a.m. Dr. Kimberly Marshall from Arizona State University
will present a lecture/slideshow on Mexican organs,
featuring the wonderful Mexican-style instrument built by Rosales
Organs, one of the "hidden gems" of the Bay Area pipe
organ world.
At 12:30 p.m. a Mexican luncheon
(with vegetarian choices included) will be served al fresco
on the beautiful grounds of the Dominican Motherhouse, directly
behind the mission.
There will be time to greet old friends and make new ones--including
the installation of our 2008-2009 Chapter officers.
At
1:30 p.m. indigenous sacred music from the California mission
era will be performed by Arwen Louis de Castellanos and her group
Cascada des Flores.
At
2:00 p.m. organ builder Manuel Rosales will talk about the organ
at Mission San Jose, how the instrument was conceived and constructed
for a modern parish situation.
